David's Temperament Traits

David’s competitive nature significantly impacts his core golf temperament. He likes competing against other players, the course and his own expectations. His
determination works in his favor except when he tries too hard and puts too much pressure on himself. This results in excessive mental and physical tension that hurts his performance. Deep breathing and other relaxation techniques can help him manage his mental and physical tension.

David is results oriented and when he doesn't’ produce up to his expectations, he might be rather quick to anger. When anger gets the best of him, it affects his concentration, physical skills, and course management judgment. At other times, David takes a more productive path in dealing with frustration and by giving himself a “get with the program” mental pep talk to clear his mind and get his game back on track.

David is goal-oriented and might set goals such as getting his game to a certain level by a certain date, qualifying for a particular tournament, etc. Goals reinforce his feeling that golf is an ongoing competitive challenge.  David might do well to focus on just one or two goals at a time and develop specific action steps for accomplishing them. The more specific the action steps are, the more consistently he will be in implementing them.

Very Important

David - You'll notice that you have DISC Styles for various key elements of your game. The first is your Golf Temperament, which is your "core" style. Then you have styles for other areas of your game.

Our scoring system determines if you use the same style throughout your game or if you adapt your core style and use different styles for different areas of your game.

Using the same style indicates that you see no need to adapt your "core" style for other areas.

Using different styles indicates that consciously of subconsciously, you are adapting your core style based  on how you feel you need to approach certain areas of the game

There are pluses and minuses for adapting your core style for various areas of your game.

Plus - A player adapting or "gearing down" an aggressive core temperament to use a more conservative course management style. The payoff is saving shots with smarter course management.

Minus - A player adapting his core style to use a more analytical style when playing shots on the course. The danger here is "mechanical overload" while trying to make your swing
